History of horror films:

With advances in technology, horror films shifted from the Gothic towards contemporary concerns. Horror and thrillers had intertwined way back in the days of the Old Dark House (1932) and Cat People (1942). However, horror's relegation to the B-movie zone in the 1950s meant that those directors who were interested in thrillers had concentrated on producing glossy, stylish, film-noir stories with no taint of the supernatural, the monstrous. The film Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock presented us with Norman Bates, the monster so close to normal it was only in the final section of the film that he revealed how monstrous a man could be instead of using in-human creatures and aliens as the monstrous characters.Horror was starting be taken seriously both at the highest craft of film production and at the lowest: setting the stage for important horror films sub-genres that come in the following decades.

  1. I am disappointed that you have chosen to plagiarize information from http://www.horrorfilmhistory.com/index.php?pageID=1960s rather than undertaking research through a range of sources and the. Presenting this information in your own words.

This homework represents a significant lack of effort and care and is not indicative of someone whose target grade is a C.

Can I ask why you chose to copy and paste information? how much time did you spend completing this task and how many sources did you consult? Do you think that this work is a true reflection of your ability and intelligence?

    2. Thanks for your honesty Jude. It is really important that you understand how important being able to read and research widely around this subject is. If you are to develop skills that will be needed both in this course and Higher Education you need to view every task you are asked to complete as a challenge which needs 100% effort and application.
